The articles explain that the majority of laminitis cases are due to high insulin levels(hyperinsulinemia) and a third of those were horses who were diagnosed with PPID(Cushing’s disease) Theses finding are helping veterinarians understand better, the basics of the disease, and will hopefully help us better prevent the laminitic episodes, and more effectively treat the disease.
